Trainer would primarily conduct individualized, private lessons and day training walks including enrichment activities and/or lead or assist group classes. Private lessons are offered primarily at the customer’s home, our facility, or online via Zoom. One on one private training are offered day, evening and weekend. Trainers are responsible for their own flexible schedules. Group Classes are conducted in the evenings and on weekends. We do require all participants and staff to wear masks for group classes at our facility.
Expand existing programs and implement state-of-the-art socialization-related practices, ensuring the highest caliber of husbandry, healthcare, environmental enrichment, and behavior modification for puppies on site. Monitor puppy health and social development tools for neonates (birth to 6 weeks) and puppies (6 weeks to 10 weeks). Identify puppies with specific temperament or physical needs, or those with delayed departure dates, and implement a specialized socialization/handling process to ensure effective development.
Qualifications:
Degree in animal behavior or psychology, CTC/CPDT/CAAB/CDBC certification or equivalent academic experience preferred. 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Demonstrated understanding of canine health, behavior, and development. Ability to lift and handle puppies weighing 15-20 pounds.
Behavior Manager oversees the overall direction of the BVSPCA shelter behavior program, public training classes, and enrichment programs. Creating & implementing behavior plans.
$49 – $56 per lesson. Up to 35 hours per week. Schedule is very flexible. Employee that signs on for a 3-year contract will be given 2 weeks of paid vacation yearly and will be financially supported in continuing education pursuits.
Provide in-home training and behavior visits, write Training Plans, teach group class 1-2 times per week, assist in continued writing of Client Library articles, provide email support to clients, assist in creating videos, and light social media posting.
Qualifications:
CPDT-KA, KPA CPT, CTC, or similar. CBCC-KA, CDBC, or similar
$55.50 per session or class, $22/hourly for other tasks including job training, $250 annual CE stipend, mileage reimbursement, opportunity for profit share after 1 year, no weekends
