Paw School is in our 12th year of business, serving 400+ clients each week. Our training curriculum is entirely positive, and our team is a supportive, caring group of professionals.
Trainers teach a wide variety of group classes: Puppy classes (socialization, obedience and puppy agility), obedience classes, and a recreational agility curriculum, as well as other specialty enrichment classes. More information available if interested.
Qualifications:
CPDT-KA is beneficial, but not required. If employee does not yet have that level of certification, we will help with costs to obtain, once ready. Evenings and weekend availability.

Salary & Benefits:
Hourly rate from $19.30 (during training), up to $25.30 (once fully cross trained). Full time (36hrs+) will receive employer-paid health insurance coverage through United Healthcare.

Pawsitive Pet Behavior is searching for an established trainer to cover the North Dayton area providing in-home training and behavior modification for dogs.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of professional dog training experience.

The Evening Canine Caregiver (Full Time) – Behavior Cottages position is a key function of Our Companions mission to do the right thing for animals. This position is responsible for the daily animal care of the dogs in the Canine Cottages including the feeding and cleaning regimens, exercise of the dogs, and interactions with sanctuary volunteers and visitors.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of professional animal care experience. Experience working with behaviorally challenged dogs would be ideal.
The Community Animal Trainer acts as the subject matter expert on all things related to our public training program and is responsible for instructing general content and workshop-style pet training classes to adopters and the public. The Trainer works to encourage SDHS adopter engagement and enhance the bond between pets and their owners while allowing pet owners to safely and humanely control their pet’s behavior.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required, AA or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Minimum of one (1) year paid experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter or similar environment. CCPDT certification preferred.

The Animal Trainer I will be responsible helping to allow responsible pet owners to control their pet’s behavior safely and humanely, participating in the implementation of behavior and training programs to improve the adoptability of shelter animals and to educate guests about behavior and care.
Qualifications:

Job Title: Part Time Dog Behavior Trainer/Consultant
Assists in acclimating animals within the Animal Shelter environment. Conducts behavior evaluations on animals admitted to the Animal Shelter.
Develops and maintains curriculum for the behavior, training, and enrichment programs.
Conducts training classes for staff and volunteers.
Assists in the establishment of protocols for the outreach programs on animal behavior and enrichment for potential adopters.
Instructs staff and volunteers in proper training techniques for the handling of Animal Shelter animals.
Supports prospective owners with information on behavior and training.
Daily care of dogs (feeding/watering/bathroom breaks)
Instructing clients during lessons and group classes
Teaching dogs and owners, obedience, state-of-mind, and engagement protocols
Providing training for all of The Dog Wizard offerings, including group classes, private lessons and board and train services.
