Kate Gorman, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KSA, CDBC, has been a trainer and behavior consultant since 1995. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), and is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). Kate is a member of the Association for Professional Dog Training International (APDT) and the Pet Professional Guild (PPG). She was quoted in the APDT’s 2010 book Top Tips from Top Trainers.
Kate is passionate about her work and is committed to using methods that are reward-based and fear-free. She regularly attends seminars and workshops to increase her knowledge of dog behavior and to stay current with the latest teaching methods and other related topics. Her goal is to help dog guardians understand their dogs’ behavior and to give them the tools they need to develop relationships based on communication, trust and mutual respect.
Kate is in Basking Ridge, NJ, and offers private, in-home family manners training and behavior problem solving for dogs of all ages. She also offers virtual training sessions. She is especially interested in dog-dog reactivity and resource guarding, and finds it extremely rewarding to watch dogs transition through the training process - from anxious and insecure to calm and confident.
