Description
“Instinct in Action: Games for the Herding Dog Mind” A Weekend Seminar of Fun, Focus, and Fulfillment Do you live with a herding dog who’s always on, sharp-eyed, and bursting with energy and instinct—but sometimes struggles to find appropriate outlets? Join us for a dynamic weekend designed to nourish your dog’s herding nature through engaging, instinct-driven games that foster connection, focus, and fun. This seminar is all about minimizing frustration, building impulse control, and honoring what makes herding dogs tick—without the pressure of formal stock work. What to Expect: • Instinct Games: Learn how to play interactive games that mimic the core elements of herding (movement, control, pressure/release) in a way that’s safe and rewarding. • Drive Balance: Discover how to channel high arousal and intense focus into structured games that teach patience, precision, and partnership. • Power Play: We’ll explore toy and handler-focused games that satisfy the need to chase, gather, and control motion as well as EMOTION. • Frustration-Free Focus: Create clarity and resilience through routine and systematic reinforcement. • Skill Foundations: Great for young dogs, sport prospects, or any herder needing enrichment—no prior stock experience required. Who It’s For: • Border Collies, Aussies, Kelpies, Heelers, Shelties, BC-mixes—any breed with herding tendencies is welcome. • Handlers of all experience levels looking to better understand and manage herding behavior through connection and play. • Ideal for both pet homes and sport handlers wanting better engagement and impulse control. You’ll leave with a toolkit of creative, customized games to: • Build connection and focus under arousal • Reduce reactivity and motion-triggered frustration • Reinforce self-control in high-drive dogs • Celebrate your dog’s instincts without suppressing them Limited working spots available. Audit spots welcome and encouraged!
