Description
This seminar is designed for dog training professionals who seek to enhance their client communication skills, especially in challenging or emotionally charged situations. Participants will explore real-world case studies involving common client communication breakdowns, such as misunderstanding training advice, resisting force-free approaches, or expressing frustration when progress is not seen. Through live role-play demonstrations by experienced instructors and interactive discussions, attendees will develop tools to listen empathetically, respond without escalating conflict, and foster cooperative, trust-based relationships with clients. Topics covered include: - Clarifying advice to avoid miscommunication - Responding to strong client demands or complaints - Navigating differences in training philosophy - Supporting clients who are emotionally overwhelmed or discouraged The session is structured to include a mix of short lectures, case-based discussions, and observational learning through live demonstrations. Speakers Dr. Mami Irimajiri, DVM, DACVB Veterinarian and Certified Veterinary Behaviorist Dr. Irimajiri is a leading expert in veterinary behavior medicine in Japan. She provides behavior consultations grounded in evidence-based practice and is active in professional education and training throughout the country. Masori Tanaka, Dog Behaviorist / Certified Professional Dog Trainer President of the Japan Dog Behavior Association (JDBA) Tanaka specializes in behavior modification for companion dogs, focusing on client-centered communication.
