Description

This talk will introduce the audience to the critical relationship between agency and animal welfare. We will review the current status of scientific understanding regarding agency's offsetting effect of physiological and psychological stressors. Using key examples from the literature, we will assess what the findings mean for applied shelter behavior practice and provide some suggestions for how shelters can incorporate predictability and control into their current operations.
