Description
There is much more to enrichment than giving an animal a filled kong or a mouse toy. Effective enrichment is the result of a deliberate process from goal setting to evaluation. Dr. Workman will define the purpose and result of effective enrichment. Next, the SPIDER framework will be introduced as an evidence-based process for ensuring your shelter enrichment program is meeting your population's needs. Enrichment is a core foundation of behavior programming and this session will give you a framework for making your shelter's enrichment program the best it can be for all species in your care!
