Description
The stress of shelter life alters behavior in both exaggerating and inhibiting ways. Managing dogs’ fear, anxiety, and stress is the first step towards successful behavior modification. Once each dog is in a state of mind capable of learning, the journey to change undesirable behavior to more acceptable ones can begin. This presentation discusses many of the common problem behaviors in shelter dogs and walks through how to identify their triggers and underlying motivations, as well as how to effectively manage treat and/or change them.
