Description

This seminar helps trainers learn how to address predatory behaviour in dogs. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could find a way to use the huge amount of motivation and pleasure that our dogs find in predatory behaviour for our training and to intensify our relationship with our dogs? Most conventional training programs aim to interrupt and stop the dog's predatory behaviour, either by a recall or by conditioned pain or fear. The problem common to both methods is that they work against the dog’s nature and what they actually want at this moment: go for a hunt! In our workshop we are going to focus in theory and practice on: What is predation, why do dogs love to prey and why is predatory behaviour so hard to interrupt? How to stop uncontrolled chasing and help your dog control their urge to chase in a healthy and force-free way. Finding ways to practice predatory sequences together with your dog in a controlled and safe environment? Structuring your walks to set your dog up for more focus and engagement outside. Discovering a variety of games and exercises to express your dog’s predatory energy through Predation Substitute Games and grow as a team. The games and exercises are instructed live and backed up with video material.
