Description

As the title suggests this workshop will reveal the not commonly believed fact that resolution of separation anxiety is truly possible. Separation anxiety wreaks havoc on dog and guardian alike. The suffering the dog endures is apparent in every heart-wrenching howl, yet we cannot forget about the deep worry and frustration that the pet parents experience as well. Dogs are destroying their homes which become quite costly to repair, landlords are issuing final warnings concerning the barking problems, and tension runs high when one more vet bill rolls in after the dog has hurt himself in yet another escape attempt. These scenarios are all too familiar for dogs with separation anxiety. Separation Anxiety is not easy to resolve but it is simple in many ways. This webinar will review multiple aspects about separation anxiety including the why, the what, and the how to proceed. In addition, some of the considerable research about separation anxiety over the past four decades will be incorporated as it is extremely helpful in working with this very nuanced behavior issue. The advancement of systematic behavior modification protocols has turned a once considered impossible training task into a doable one with successful resolution of even the most severe appearing separation anxiety cases being attainable. Malena DeMartini is a Certified Trainer and Counselor (CTC) and Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) – She is renowned in the dog training world for her work on canine separation anxiety over more than two decades. Her books, Treating Separation Anxiety in Dogs, and Separation Anxiety in Dogs, Next Generation in Treatment Protocols and Practices have helped countless numbers of dogs (and the people that love them). Her online course for guardians called Mission: POSSIBLE has proven to be an invaluable resource in the industry and the success rate realized there is immeasurable. In addition to writing and lecturing for a worldwide audience, Malena oversees a team of top separation anxiety trainers and runs an internationally accessible certification program for accomplished dog professionals looking to hone their skills. Malena is passionate about furthering education in this field through science-based methods. Resources about separation anxiety and support with training can be found at malenademartini.com This webinar will be recorded, including the Q&A, with the recorded version being available within 48 hours. You will have access to the recording for a year.
