Description
The Clinical Animal Behavior Conference is a 2 ½ day intensive conference focusing on veterinary behavioral medicine. Throughout the conference, attendees will learn the science behind veterinary behavioral medicine, appropriate use of training and behavioral modification techniques, and treatment of specific behavioral problems in companion animals. The focus of this year’s conference is on behavior in the shelter environment and in the period of transition when animals are adopted into new homes. Presentations include topics such as understanding the function of behavior, identifying, and addressing hyperactivity and impulsivity, working with under socialized dogs, enrichment, reinforcement and plans for transition periods as well as a session by a licensed social worker on moral distress and clear communication.
