A day of lecture with demonstrations and coaching with Barbara Schwerdt in a fun trial-like location in San Luis Obispo. Barbara will be addressing several more advanced odor challenges. In the morning, we will be focusing on trapping/pooling odor and in the afternoon we will cover elevated hide challenges. Barbara will cover how odor moves and what the challenges are for the dog. She will help you to gain an understanding of how you know when your dog is working on the scent problem and how you know when they have made their commitment. Barbara will also go over ways to help your dog improve their abilities and communication when encountering these kinds of scent challenges. The seminar format will include lecture and running 16 dog/handler teams with input from Barbara on the searches/handling. Whether you are running a demo dog or watching and listening, there will be lots to learn from one of our favorite NW experts!
