Description

Public access training is the most difficult aspect of service dog work. However, it is also the least well understood. Preparing a service dog candidate for public access involves much more than simply taking the dog to different locations. In fact, doing this can result in the dog being stressed and overwhelmed. Veronica Sanchez presents a webinar on practical strategies for preparing service dog candidates to work in public access. Public access environments vary greatly, Veronica will discuss some easy ways to assess the difficulty of different settings and set specific criteria for public access training. Attendees will learn easy to implement techniques that emphasize a gradual approach to public access work. These strategies set both service dog candidates and their handlers up for success.
