Are you a pet industry professional, such as a dog walker, caregiver, groomer, or work in the veterinary field, and want to learn more about the theory and applied aspects of clicker training? In this three hour workshop, Andre Yeu, Founder of When Hounds Fly, and Karen Pryor Academy Faculty, will introduce key foundational lessons for any pet professional to learn about dog training. Brief History of Learning Theory Know your ABCs - Antecedent, Behaviour, Consequence Operant Conditioning - Four Quadrants, and Extinction Clicker Training, what is it really? Clicker Training Mechanics Deeper Dive: Clicker Training to improve Loose-Leash Walking in pet dogs in Toronto This workshop has previously only been available as internal training to When Hounds Fly staff, and to private organizations, and we hope that by offering it to the general public, owner/operators of dog care businesses, their staff, and those that are just really interested in learning can benefit. A clicker will be provided to each participant, and light refreshments will be served. Please note, this is a people-only event! Leave your doggies at home! The workshop will involve lecture, video, skills training (without dogs present) and Q&A.
