The National Dog Show Therapy Dog Symposium at Rowan University brings together therapy dog handlers, health care experts, academics and those looking to learn more about Therapy Dogs to share information and develop common practices within this growing initiative. This year’s event will offer in-person and virtual opportunities.The symposium is co-hosted by David Frei and Michele Pich. David is an expert analyst from NBC’s National Dog Show, broadcast annually on Thanksgiving. He is a prolific writer and founder of Angel on a Leash. Michele Pich is the Assistant Director of the Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program and Adjunct Professor of Law and Justice Studies at Rowan University. Michele has worked in animal-assisted therapy (and other animal-assisted activities and interactions) for many years, including with her own certified therapy dog, Vivian Peyton. Vivian is a therapy dog ambassador for the National Dog Show and part of the Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program.
