Description

What do dogs really think of us? Do their emotions feel like our own? What do dogs know and understand of their world? In recent years, family dogs have helped us get closer to answering big questions like these about the minds of non-human animals. But it wasn’t always this way. For 150 years or more, generations of ethologists, psychologists and animal behaviourists, wrestled with how best to use dogs in their research, with varying degrees of success. Join zoology correspondent and Guardian writer Jules Howard, author of Wonderdog, in this celebration of the history of dog cognition science.
