Description

The R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) Workshop is for people who are interested in doing therapy dog work in the area of reading to children. They will learn best practices and tips for implementing and enhancing reading programs for children at local schools, libraries, homeless shelters or other types of venues. The non-profit organization, Intermountain Therapy Animals, started the R.E.A.D. program in 1999. It is a national program and is also in 24 other countries. It is well known as being the first and the most comprehensive program available. Anyone that is interested in learning more about R.E.A.D. may attend. This worskhop is for humans only. The only two certified R.E.A.D. instructors in MN will be presenting this workshop.
