If you have completed both parts of the SPA educational program (foundations and intermediate), you are eligible to attend the upcoming in-person handing course. Just like the main program, the course is free of charge. The costs to you are for your travel and meals outside of the workshop. The host shelter will be providing food on-site. Details: Location: Pasadena Humane Society, 361 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105 Dates: February 25 - 27th (Friday - Sunday), 2022 Times: 9:30 am -- 4:00 pm We will have a limit of 16 spots, and will work in small groups (4 groups of 4). Schedule: Day 1: Handling basics, slip leads to harnesses, defensive handling Day 2: Working with shy and fearful dogs, dog intros, Low stress handling (including for vet procedures) Day 3: Working with highly aroused dogs, calm exits, managing dog greets with highly aroused dogs Each day we will evaluate possible play pairs, and if there's a love connection we will also practice managing play "the LIMA way". Co-facilitating with Mara Velez will be Dot Baisly, Yona Rappaport, Kiem Sie and Fernando Diaz.
