I fully believe the ticket to speedy training lies within teaching concepts otherwise known as Concept Training – the teaching of rules and how to apply them within a specific task and further apply those rules to new and novel situations. In this webinar, we’ll take a quick look at and discuss concept training such as match to sample, adduction, modifiers and mimicry and the basics required to get you started. Then we’ll take a look at how concept training benefits your communication and can actually lessen the frustration our dogs can often have if we’re not communicating the “concept” to them. Once your dog understands the rules of the game within one concept, they’re much faster at applying “rules” not only to novel situations but to other NEW combinations of behaviours – hence speedier training.
