Description

Participants will: Identify and Discuss evidence to support integrative healthcare practices benefits to clients and providers in human service fields. Examine traditional theories of counseling and psychotherapy that lend themselves to the incorporation of creative and integrative practices. Practice 4 different integrative practices (music, movement, expressive arts and animal-assisted interventions) and evaluate the benefits of using these practices with clients. Experience stress reduction from the inclusion of mindfulness based practices incorporated throughout the course. Evaluate the benefits gained from participating in these exercise and develop an action plan for desired changes in personal and professional self-care practices as a result of taking this course.
