Description

The nutrition course "Dog Food Smarts" is the third core course in The Science Dog's three-course series designed for students who wish to complete a "Masters Class Certificate in Canine Nutrition". The first two courses are "Basics of Canine Nutrition and "Puppies to Seniors: Feeding Dogs through the Life Cycle). This final course, "Dog Food Smarts" includes eIght chapters that examine dog food history; homemade, traditional and innovative dog foods; pet food marketing claims and appeals; commercial pet food regulation and safety; and dog food evaluation and selection. Course materials include video lectures, readings, recorded webinars, quizzes and discussion sections with the instructor and with other students in the course. Objectives of the course are to help professional trainers and behavior consultants advance their knowledge base and careers and to help their clients with pet food decisions.
