Qualified training professionals who meet prerequisites to participate will be equipped through online education and hands-on experience to offer trusted, Fear Free-friendly training services that complement other Fear Free certified professional and Fear Free Happy Home efforts. If additional ethical codes of conduct are met and maintained, the training professional earns the title of Fear Free Trainer. The course will offer training that complements and builds on Fear Free principles advocated for in Fear Free veterinary certification and in Fear Free Happy Homes. The course content covers the importance of and strategies for protecting and promoting a pet’s total well-being (with emphasis placed on preserving the pet’s emotional and behavioral well-being). Principles covered in the course include behavior modification techniques and care strategies that protect and enhance pet emotional well-being and cooperation during care, whether at the pet’s home or the veterinary hospital. Guidance is provided for preventive and issue-based training done in a manner that supports collaboration with the pet’s veterinary team.
