Description

This program focuses on keeping your dog safe when faced with rattlesnakes. However, all the games and training techniques can be used to keep your dog safe from anything that is dangerous (Scorpions, Poisonous Frogs, Skunks, other Poisonous/Venomous Snakes, etc.), not just rattlesnakes. In this DVD you will learn how to train behaviors designed to move dogs away from rattlesnakes and or to stay close to the handler when in areas prone to rattlesnakes using fun games. Game categories are: attention, settle, safety (example: body blocking trained as a behavior), luring, targeting, leash walking, impulse control, recall, and stay. Ultimately, you will be training your dog to view being with you highly valuable and want to stay with and pay attention to you instead of checking out what is in the environment. You will also learn how to train a variety of tricks, use agility skills and canine freestyle behaviors to keep and move your dog away from rattlesnakes or other dangerous critters. The goal is to have fun with your dog as you are teaching skills that could save his life. In addition to all the relationship building games, trick, agility and freestyle training, you will learn how to train dogs to automatically move away from rattlesnakes (with or without you present) using sound, sight, scent and movement. Although this section of the DVD is more advanced, anyone can have success with Pam’s easy to train methods. The methods used in this DVD are completely force free and require some clicker/marker training knowledge. This program uses remote controlled snakes, fake snakes, snake sounds and dead snakes (snake skin or snake feces), but you could use live snakes if you are comfortable with them and treat them humanely. This DVD is a complete guide and gives you insight into rattlesnake behavior, teaches you simple ways to tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes, answers questions about rattlesnakes, provides helpful tips on safety and will even walk you through a variety of ways to make your backyard safe and rattlesnake free. Through the use of the training games and skills in this DVD, you will build an amazing relationship with your dog and doing so, you will be able to protect your canine companion from rattlesnakes and keep him safe in other dangerous situations.
