A 5 day, comprehensive, non species specific course on animal training taught at the KPCT National Training Center (NTC) or “Ranch”. Learning modalities include classroom and hands on training of animals at the Ranch. If you had come to work for Ken Ramirez at the world famous Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, you would learn the skills to take you from a novice to a trusted, independent trainer over the course of 6 years. This course packs that knowledge into one week. You should not expect to master 6 years of experience in one week of course!, but you will get comprehensive coverage of the concepts, principles and practices as well as animal training sessions each and every day. Each day In the classroom, Ken covers the core of training theory, principles and practices needed for working in a almost any professional animal training environment. Each day on the Ranch with Ken, students will develop their skills, (and a relationship!) with one of the animals on the ranch over the course of the program.
