Description

OVERVIEW During the COVID-19 lockdown, TAGteach founder Theresa McKeon has come to share her home with teachers and trainers Eva Bertilsson from Sweden (also TAGteach faculty) and Chirag Patel from the UK. As teachers and trainers, they all see behavior and learning opportunities everywhere! In this webinar you get to join them as they explore how and when TARGETS can help people accomplish a variety of desired actions. A target is an environmental aid designed to guide the learner to a certain place or position Animal trainers routinely employ targeting in their work, teaching animals to touch designated objects with a body part such as the nose or the paw. The object, or target, can then be placed where the trainer wants the nose or paw to go. Targeting is a very useful tool also when working with humans, helping us to clarify the objective and help the learner succeed without using an overload of words. Once you start thinking in terms of targeting, you’ll see targets and target possibilities everywhere! This is a intermediate/advanced level webinar and will assume knowledge of basic TAGteach, how to use a marker, understanding of the concept of a cue and understanding of basic task analysis. We will not have time to cover these topics in the webinar.
