Description

Oakland University’s Center for Human Animal Interventions and Animal Assisted Therapy Certificate Program presents this hands-on 2 ½ day workshop for the beginner to intermediate AAI professional. This workshop will emphasize dog behavior and identifying stress in dogs, positive reinforcement training, how to handle sessions when the dog (animal) is not interested in participating, session planning and using Human Animal Relations Theory with its creator, Dr. Cynthia Chandler. This is a rare opportunity to learn with one of the field's leaders. We also welcome back Melissa Winkle (OT), president of Animal Assisted Interventions International and owner of Dogwood Therapy in New Mexico who is a world renowned AAI professional.
