Description

Handling & First Aid The morning session will be a hands-on session covering handling skills. When working with or interacting with dogs, it is critical that we go beyond a basic understanding of their communication. We must be aware of our own body language and how to ensure we are keeping ourselves and the dogs safe and comfortable. During this informative session, we will cover everything you need to know to help your dog experience stress-free vet and groomer visits and live a happy and enjoyable life with their interactions in our human world. We will also conduct a short hands-on session to review all of the first aid skills with dogs. Whether you work with or live with dogs, having a solid comprehension of what to do in an emergency is critical and should be a requirement for all. We will wrap up the day with a hands-on clicker training session with our dogs! Dog-Dog Interactions Most people want a dog that they can enjoy off-leash time together and provide them the opportunity to play with their canine companions. Play is important for a dog’s overall well-being, but unfortunately, it is often misinterpreted and our influence can cause conflict. This full day session will provide you with a solid comprehension of how to set up introductions, manage group play, breakup fights, keep everyone safe and other dog-dog interactions such as on-leash greetings. We will start the session by reviewing canine communication and important body language to watch for during dog interactions. We will rotate through various groups of dogs throughout the day to observe, supervise and gain invaluable experience to ensure you will confident in managing off-leash play and ensure everyone stays safe and enjoys their play!
