This is an intensive day that covers unique skills required for dog trainers. We will start the day fine-tuning our mechanical training skills and increasing our comprehension on learning theory through games and various activities. This interactive session will also focus on shaping and how this effective method is critical in a trainer’s toolbox. We will continue the day reviewing the personal skills to help conduct group classes and private training sessions. The focus will be on the human-side of the equation while we cover consulting skills, classroom management, client compliance and ensuring the training is successful and everyone is safe and comfortable. We will wrap up discussing how to ensure you are taking care of yourself and managing the emotional toil that can come from this work. This day is about strengthening your foundation as a trainer and promoting a collaborative environment with others.
