Description

Dive deep into clicker training with this three day clinic. We meet Friday night for introductions. The clinic is very much tailored to the individual needs of the participants so this evening get together becomes each participants first exercise in shaping. There is no way we could cover all aspects of clicker training horses from basic theory through practical applications to advanced performance skills all in one three day course. So participants help to shape the direction the course will take. Horse spots are limited to six, but people can also attend without a horse. Everyone who attends is a full participant. Everyone is involved in the discussions and the skill building sessions. But only people with a horse spot work directly the horses. That avoids confusing a horse with too many handlers. Topics covered can include: introducing a horse/handler team to clicker training; clicker foundation skills and theory; teaching basic husbandry and management skills; ground work, including liberty training and classical work in hand; riding with the clicker. Concepts covered can include: loopy training, errorless learning and microshaping; extinction - friend or foe; cues versus commands; teaching and using cues; building sequences and chains; shaping plans.
