Making Multi-Dog Magic - Instead of Conflict David will show you how he integrated a new dog into his family where his older dog has been solo for 8 years. He’ll teach you training exercises and management tips so that you can help adopters and fosters integrate new dogs successfully into homes that already have one or more dogs. Afternoon Session: Training for Conversation and Situation Be Still and Listen to the Dog! Now Teach Her What to Do in THIS Situation. Are you done with the word “command” yet? It’s been part of the brand of dog training for decades so we take it for granted that basic obedience behaviors are called commands, but what does that imply? Unrealistic expectations for one thing, but it is also dumbing down your dog. Dogs are much smarter (and more loveable) than a robot that you give commands to. You can talk to them about it. David will show you how. In this session we’ll see how conversational training can be more fun for you and the dog and produce the powerful results you’re looking for. Warning – David may not use many cues (modern term formerly known as commands). We’ll look at training for real-life situations instead of that pretend obedience competition in your head that you were never planning to attend anyway. As always, we will have live demonstrations with the shelter dogs on site.
