Description

This practical, hands-on lab will teach you how to handle and restrain cats and dogs using Fear Free techniques. The benefits of Fear Free are vital and inspiring for anyone who works with animals. Fear free techniques can help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in animals thus making the veterinary hospital and/or shelter an overall less stressful and happier place for animals, visitors, employees, and volunteers. When an animal’s fear and anxiety is reduced, there is a lower likelihood of bites, scratches, and other injuries to caregivers. In this workshop, we will guide you through a Fear Free exam from start to finish through animal demonstrations and interactive discussions and exercises. This hands-on workshop offered as programming during the 2020 Midwest Veterinary Conference.
