Starting in 2010, the Penn Vet Working Dog Center has held the Working Dog Conference, a gathering of working dog professionals including veterinarians, academics, working dog handlers, breeders, students, behaviorists, and those interested in what makes a better working dog. The 2020 event is focused on the different aspects of training both the dog and handler members of the teams. Content will be centered around 4 themes: • Implications of physical and mental training for the working dog team • Novel techniques for training successful working dog teams • Use of assessments in optimizing K9 training programs • Emerging technologies for advancing the work Preconference workshops providing hands on training opportunities are also available on Friday. We are proud to hold a conference in which all people invested in the health and performance of all types of working dogs can learn together.
