Description

I will be presenting to a live audience a speech on training with positive reinforcement, with an emphasis on play as reward. I will discuss the current research showing the value of play to build durable responses as well as encourage the dog more actively to participate in the process. This audience includes very experienced trainers, but ones that have used traditional methods of corrections and aversive collar types. The goal is to show them the value of positive reinforcement, the increased bond that it creates and the improved welfare for their dogs. They are truly dog lovers, but are stuck in the methods that they have used extensively.
