Description

Hello, wolf and wildlife lovers! We have heard your requests and have decided to create a specialized program designed to maximize hands-on experience with many different species, ranging from small to large! Our Multi-Species Workshop, featuring Ken McCort is designed for the experienced trainer in mind. This workshop, catering towards trainers with at least one year in the professional circuit, gives the opportunity to get your hands dirty training a variety of exotic species in a team setting. Participants will have the unique opportunity to discuss the behavioral attributes of our canid collection, as well as our bison, and to develop and apply training plans to each species, utilizing participants’ existing skill-sets. The emphasis of this workshop is on the development and adjustment of training techniques and plans based on the context, and needs of the learner, so lectures will largely be discussion based, as participants share their experiences and or pitfalls with training sessions and work to adjust the plans where needed . Trainers will be given the opportunity to apply their hard-earned skills in a variety of wildlife contexts, with multiple opportunities to discuss, revise and analyze participant goals as the weekend progresses. Protected contact, and limited free-contact settings are available to participants with our ambassador wolves, foxes, and bison. All training will be under the supervision of Wolf Park staff and Ken McCort. Participants will work as a team to create a training program, implement their plan and problem solve with Ken and Wolf Park staff throughout the workshop and coaching sessions. This exclusive seminar is limited to 10-12 participants. The total cost of the seminar is $1,000. A 50% deposit is required to secure a spot in this seminar. Full payment is due one month prior to the seminar.
