Description

In its essence, this study has been established to understand the detailed anatomy of one species, the grey parrot, and simultaneously develop new technologies that can be used in many animals. While the Project intends to publish a physical book, the ultimate goal is to create a database of information that can be built upon by researchers worldwide. Since its inception in 2013, researchers from multiple countries have taken part in the project. As the second main feature of the Project, new technology has been developed and invented to address health issues that face animals and humans alike. For example, we have developed new techniques in cardiovascular, skeletal and soft tissue imaging that have been directly applied to living animal (primarily bird) cases. During the presentation, the author will show some of the latest technology being used as a part of the Project.
