A 2 day in depth look at how to use the Science we know to help with dog and other animal behavior problems. Lecture * video * demos * breakout sessions * practice problem solving using positive reinforcement solutions. We have many positive reinforcement tools to use for behavior problems and each case is just a little different. There are many similarities in solutions to behavior problems but we have to keep an open mind and use all the tools we have available. Controlling triggers and changing cues through classical and operant conditioning will all be considered. Prior knowledge of learning theory will be helpful. A good resource for this is Excel-Erated Learning by Pam Reid. Other suggested reading prior to seminar: Don’t Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor and For the Love of a Dog by Patricia McConnell.
