Friday, December 7, 2012: K9 Nose Work Skill Building Pre-requisite: Dogs should be getting ready for trialing at the NW1 title level. Handlers must have a sound understanding of the K9 Nose Work principles and philosophy. Currently or recent enrollment in a class with a CNWI or ANWI strongly recommended for both working handlers and auditors. Intro to K9 Nose Work® Saturday, December 8, 2012 - 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. Introduction to K9 Nose Work® focuses on the foundation for a successful start into K9 Nose Work®. This workshop is the required to participate in any future workshops. A presentation covers basics to competition and an introduction of the National Association of Canine Scent Work. The reminder of the workshop spends time working dogs in the fundamentals of K9 Nose Work®. Ten working spots are available for dogs not on odor. Continuing Nose Work Sunday, December 9, 2012 - 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. Continuing Nose Work workshop will introduce the dogs to odor. We will build on skills previously learned in Intro to Nose Work Seminar. Handlers will learn new strategies and handling techniques. Ten working spots are available for dogs. Prerequisite: Working spots need to have their Birch ORT or be entered in an ORT this year. It is strongly suggested that both working spots and auditing spots be either currently or recently enrolled in a class with a CNWI or ANWI, or attend an Intro to Nose Work seminar.
