Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge & Skills Assessed|
Michael Baugh, CPDT-KA, CDBC studied community counseling at John Carroll University in Ohio. He has a degree in communications with a secondary concentration in psychology from Loyola University in New Orleans. Michael is also an honors graduate of the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers. Michael owns Michael's Dogs Training and Behavior in Houston, TX. He’s been a professional trainer and behavior consultant since 1999, when he founded North Coast Dogs in Cleveland, OH. Michael is a contributing author to The Dog Trainer’s Resource, and has been honored by the National Dog Writers Association. Over the years, Michael has gravitated toward the more difficult cases of broken or endangered relationships between people and their dogs. “I especially like helping people with fearful dogs, regardless of how that fear shows itself,” he said, “There’s nothing more satisfying than helping people understand their dog better, and getting that dog back into the family unit.” He’s also worked with obsessive compulsive dogs, deaf dogs, and dogs with depressed behavior. In addition, Michael has worked as a trainer and canine behavior consultant with atypical human clients, including children on the Autism spectrum, children with ADHD, brain injured adults, and adults with anxiety disorders and depression.
