Description
At least 1 dog in 2 expresses aggression toward humans; at most 1 in 250 delivers a significantly injurious bite. It’s time to understand and normalize the overwhelming majority of these events that are completely mundane. We can then avoid overreactions that interfere with effective intervention in the small sliver of cases with serious risk factors, and understand the appropriate use of normalization, management, and behavior modification whenever the presenting issue is growling, snarling, snapping, or biting.
