Spring has been busy for us over here at the CCPDT headquarters. We kicked off the season with our annual in-person board meeting in New York City, where we talked about some of the most pressing issues in the field of dog training. The CCPDT board spent two days discussing policy, goings on in the dog world, and strategies to make sure that the CCPDT continues in its role as the leader in certification standards for professional dog trainers.
What big changes came from the board meeting? The CCPDT’s recertification and new certificant rates have increased in the last 6 months. That means that there is a whole slew of newly certified dog trainers in practice and many more who continue to acknowledge that CCPDT as the leader in standardization among professional dog trainers! The CCPDT continues to bring greater awareness to its certifications via amped-up marketing efforts and increased presence on social media. We have also expanded our Certificant Benefits Package to help you build your own businesses.
Perhaps the biggest change for the CCPDT is that, as a reflection of our growth, the board feels that it is time to move the organization forward by hiring a dedicated Executive Director.
The Executive Director will be a part-time paid staff position who will be responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the CCPDT, as well as the programs, vision, and strategic plan of the organization. The position reports directly to the board and will work closely with both the board and our testing provider to move the CCPDT to the next level!
