What’s Happening This Fall at the CCPDT

Forget what that Christmas song says. With the temperatures cooling off, the leaves on the East Coast changing before my eyes, and the parks and beaches empty as the crowds settle into their work and school routines; the onset of Fall is truly the most wonderful time of the year for my dogs and I! Here at the CCPDT, we’ve been busy as usual!

In October, we’ll once again be attending the APDT’s annual trade show. We look forward to this conference every year as an opportunity to meet and greet our certificants, chat up some of the best minds in dog training, and shop for some of the coolest new dog training products on the market! If you are headed to the conference this fall, please stop by our booth and say “hello” to CCPDT’s Board President Bradley Phifer and Secretary Carol Hutelmyer. While you’re there, don’t forget to grab some cool swag at our booth!

In other CCPDT news, after peeling through some excellent candidates, we’ve wrapped up the interview process for our new Executive Director position, and are hoping to finalize and announce the new Executive Director very soon! Thank you to all who applied, and watch out for an announcement in your inboxes!

Last, but certainly not least, many of us—myself included—are due for recertification in December! For some, that may mean packing in some last minute continuing education units to complete your recertification requirements. Head on over to the Events page on our website for a full list of awesome events that will earn you a couple (or a ton!) of CEU’s! Even if you don’t need any more CEU’s to recertify, we’re sure you’ll find many fantastic learning opportunities to enhance your personal and professional expertise!

Warm Regards,
Nicole Larocco-Skeehan, CPDT-KA
