Call of the Wild Reactive Dog Camp offers reactive dogs and their owners opportunities to take part in activities they can’t normally enjoy, because of their reactivity issues: life enrichment activities (nature games, treasure hunts, nose work, hiking, swimming, creek paddling, and other outdoor activities which foster relaxation and balance) will feature prominently. A large part of the camp will be devoted to theory and practice pertaining to remedial work with dog-dog reactivity. There will also be sessions that build handler knowledge and skills, and provide emotional support and build connections between handlers. The camp will be structured around the special needs of reactive dogs - particularly the need for space, solo activities and practice opportunities. It aims to generate a network of peer support that will continue beyond the camp, helping campers to continue to practice skills and enjoy outdoor activities safely in other contexts.
