Separation anxiety is a particularly complex behavior that requires a wide spectrum of skills and experience to alleviate. Trainers and behavior consultants have many questions about how to work with the disorder, and they deserve great support. Malena DeMartini will help you with cases and discuss strategies to work with separation anxiety in this 8 week mentoring workshop. Participants will discuss their own cases past, present and future if they like, hear from the foremost expert in the field today about effective methods and strategies. Along with group instruction, handouts or worksheets and discussion there will be video examples to dissect the nuances that are important body language aspects of separation anxiety/isolation distress. Full mentees meet weekly for face-to-face live, on-line group support. Malena is renowned in the dog training world for her expertise in canine separation anxiety disorder. She is the author of Treating Separation Anxiety in Dogs and has contributed articles on separation anxiety to the Association of Professional Dog Trainers' (APDT) journal, Chronicle of the Dog. She lectures on SA at professional dog training workshops and conferences throughout the country, including the APDT annual conference. Malena is an honors graduate of the esteemed San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, where she studied under Jean Donaldson, and is a certified member of the IAABC.
