Nearly fifty years after the landmark study by Drs. Scott and Fuller was published in 1964, many breeders, rescue workers, behavioral counselors and trainers still lack in-depth knowledge of the impact of specific times in a dog's psychological and behavioral development. Understanding these important time frames enables professionals and owners to make the most of them, to avoid actions that can cause permanent psychological scars, and to recognize when behavioral issues may be related to an event or missed opportunity during a critical period.
