Description

This seminar is devoted to the human-animal bond, with a specific focus on animal assisted interventions (AAA/AAT/AAE). We will discuss what it takes to make a great therapy animal team, what training is required and what behaviors are helpful to train, registration protocols, therapy environments, and issues facing the therapy animal industry. We will discuss how to prepare you and your dog for work in a variety of environments, how to bring AAI to your workplace, and next steps to take. You will also get a chance to hear from healthcare professionals and registered therapy animal teams. Iowa Human-Animal Bond Society is an Iowa based non-profit devoted the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of those we serve through the growth and nurturing of the human-animal bond.
