Description

In this practical session, we will actually dye a dog's teeth by using plaque stain, and the outcome of effective and appropriate methods of holding the body and teeth-brushing would be expected. We also provide an opportunity to recognise some risks and difficulties of utilising an ultrasonic scaler when scraping scales off teeth. This can be done by using an oral skeletal model. The purpose of this seminar is shown below. *** 80% of domestic dogs in Japan that are more than three years of age have been troubled with a periodontal disease. One possible cause will be due to a lack of owners' knowledge of proper tooth brushing and training skills. Training relative to dental care such as touching a dog's muzzle and holding its body particularly seems to be insufficient for ensuring dog owners to practice appropriate oral care on daily basis. This seminar will provide an opportunity to learn about canine dental care with good training skills necessary for owner education.
