Description

I am seeking CEU credit for a book I have written, to be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in early June 2019 (available for pre-order on Amazon now). This book -- and its associated live and multimedia presentations on radio, television, print, and on the web -- involves the strategy and practice of finding and bringing in lost dogs, which necessarily involves the study of animal drives, impulses, and behaviors, as well as the examination of human actions (as primates) around loose or lost dogs, where many of our "natural" impulses can do more harm than good. The book also discusses pre-emptive moves owners can make with the training of their dogs to lessen flight-risk and improve recall. I have an MS in Communication, 35 years of college teaching, and hold the CPDT-KA, as well as SAR Tech II (K9) and SAR Master Handler/Trainer.
