Dr. Hekman will provide information on “why” our dogs do what they do by looking at genetics and early learning experinces. Dr. Hekman currently works at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard studying the genomics of behavior in pet dogs. She received her veterinary degree at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterniary Medicine in Massachusetts and her PhD in genetics from the University of Illinois Ubane-Champaign.. Her ultimate goal is to find genetic causes of fearfulness in dogs, to work with behaviorally challenged shelter dogs, and to help people better understand the science behind dog behavior. Kathy Reilly, CDBC, CBCC-KA will provide practical, humane solutions to your most pressing dog behavior problems. Kathy is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Kathy has been training and working with dogs for over 10 years. She specializes in helping aggressive and fearful dogs. She spent many years in animal rescue and shelter work saving dogs and cats. She is the Founder and Senior Director of FACT Academy, an online dog trainer school.
