Description

This program will give you a step-by-step plan to prepare your dog for competition using systematic desensitization and a counter/classical conditioning approach. This DVD will teach you how to desensitize and change your dog's emotional response to things seen or heard at a competition, which will also help your dog learn to cope with things in our crazy human world. This DVD will show you how to prepare dogs for a successful career in dog sports. This is a lead-up training plan for competition and not a ?how to' training guide for behaviors dogs will need to know for their particular dog sport. Pamela uses the sport of Agility as an example of how to slowly add distractions in order for dogs to be successful both inside and outside of the ring. She will show you how to teach your dog to be comfortable, confident, build a positive association with distractions, and be able to focus on you instead of worrying or being stressed about things going on in the environment. A dog sport environment is highly distracting and can cause fear, over-arousal, stress, and a breakdown of performance behaviors. This DVD trains you to be proactive, and focus on preventing problems from occurring in the first place.
