Description

Course Delivery: This course is taught online with live video calls (community of practice sessions) where specific skills will be introduced and practiced with the instructor. Students should budget approximately 2 hours a week (this includes the one hour weekly live call) for coursework. Course Goal: Improve the lives of those who care for animals by helping them learn various self-care techniques, connect with and learn from supportive peers, and practice the skills needed to reduce risks related work stressors and increase resilience. To earn CEUs from this course, students must complete the following: 1. Participate in a minimum of five online Discussions with your classmates by responding to prompts. Five posts should be substantive and a minimum of 250 words. Students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in discussions beyond the minimum five posts. 2. Participate (live) in five of the seven scheduled calls on Zoom. Note: The purpose of attending the live sessions is to discuss and practice self-care strategies and healthy coping mechanisms to combat stress. We will identify and explore obstacles to wellness, while connecting with peers who can offer support and accountability.
